@thomas
"Gah!" screamed Dice as he fell though the portal to the Haven. He skidded across the cement, giving him skinned arms and legs, but as soon as he fell, he stopped. Dice started to regret his clothing choice: t-shirt and shorts.
"Owie..." he whimpered. Suddenly he remembered: they were still chasing him. Dice's eyes widened to the size of dinner plates, and he struggled to stand up and run.
Wait...this doesn't look like the forest...am I...dead? This does look nicer than before.
Dice started to panic, and soon broke out into a cold sweat. "Oh no...oh no no no no..." he stuttered as he paced back and forth. Tears were threatening to fall down and stain the apples of his cheeks, and a lump formed in his throat. Dice would not accept the fact that he died from the HBES, he thought he was stronger than that.
He fell to the floor, but he sat up quickly. Dice ran his fingers through his blond hair, trying to find a reason why he wasn't dead. He looked at his arms, which were now bleeding because of his previous injuries.
I'm bleeding...which means I'm not dead! You can't get hurt when you've already died, right?

The rat ran beside Dice as they were trying to out run the HBES. If only they could them off their tails! Thomas heard Dice scream, and the dog half-blood disappeared. Thomas stopped in his tracks and panted, looking around himself for the blond idiot. "Dice? Dice!" Where did he go..? He was standing there spaced out, trying to figure out where Dice went. The HBES continued on the chase. There was no time for thinking! Although, he wanted to make sure Dice was okay.
Thomas shifted into his rat form and scurried over to a tree with some broken roots where there was a small opening. He hid there while the HBES kept looking for the half-bloods in the forest. His tiny little rat heart was beating so fast. Where did Dice go? That idiot better be okay.. He'd be lost without me. No, Thomas would be lost without Dice. The rat hated to admit it, though. He was a stubborn and cold grump. Honestly, the worst thing that could happen would be if he lost Dice.
Thomas thought Dice would eventually get tired of him and leave him. Can you really blame him if he does think that? I'm always so harsh toward him.. calling him an idiot and everything. I don't know how to explain it. The HBES started to move out further into the forest, and the rat crawled out from underneath the tree. He shifted back into his human form and brushed the dirt off of his clothes the best he could. Thomas started to walk back to the spot where he lost Dice. Where was that spot again? It was kind of hard to remember since he had the HBES chasing after him still. I think... it was around here.

Despite realizing that he was alive, and hopefully safe, Dice still felt an uneasy feeling in his stomach. He sat on the grass, still shaking with fear. Dice shoved his hands into his sweatshirt pocket, trying to find something to calm him down. His hands found something rectangular, and pulled it out. It turned out to be spearmint gum.
Gum! Man, I hope this will calm me down.
After a few minutes of desperately calming down and aggressively chewing gum, Dice felt himself relax. Then it hit him. Thomas wasn't with him. Thomas, his only friend of many years and the only other half-blood he's ever known, was no where to be found. Dice started to cry again. Sure, Thomas always called him idiot, but deep down, Dice knew he was just joking and that he really loved him. The dog half-blood always reflected his affectionate feelings toward him, and now, he didn't know where he was.
"THOMAS??" Dice cried out. He started to run around the park, hopelessly searching for his friend.

"THOMAS??" What..? "Uh... DICE?" The dark-haired teenager looked around at his surroundings but his childhood friend was nowhere to be found. Thomas was starting to get irritated and nervous. "Dude, this is not the time to be playing hide and seek with me. Just come out already. They're gone." Really, Dice? That guy was getting stupider by the day. Even though he heard Dice, he was still worried. Dice sounded like he was fine, just being a dramatic, whining baby. Nothing from normal. It still worried him. Thomas was like mama bear when it came to Dice. "Are you hurt? Where are you?" Sheesh... that guy.

"Uh, DICE?"
Dice continued to panic. How could he have heard his friend, but not see him? The thought of never seeing him again made Dice cry even harder.
What if I really never see him again? Il est le seul que je l'aime .
"Dude, this is not the time to be playing hide and seek with me. Just come out already. They're gone."
There his voice was again. Hide and seek? "Thomas, I'm not playing! Please, YOU come out! I don't know where you are! Please...I'm so scared, Thomas." Dice called out again. If he ever saw him again, Dice would pull Thomas into a giant bear hug. That's if he ever sees him again.
"Are you hurt? Where are you?"
Dice looked down at his legs and arms. His scratches were still bleeding, but he saw that some of them were started to clot. "I, uh, I think I'm okay. Just a a few scratches," Dice explained. "Where am I? I-I don't know. I think I'm in a park? I'm not in the forest anymore. Thomas! Please come out wherever you are!!"

It was unsettling. Dice's desperate cries for Thomas. It was scarying him. Thomas walked around in the same area and tried to track Dice down by the sound of his voice. He was getting closer.. The dark-haired teenager stopped in his tracks and blinked his eyes blankly. "What? How are you at the park if I can hear you from here?! W-what are you doing in the park, anyway! Um.... I mean, I'm glad you're safe but you like... left me." It would have been better that way. If it was one of them that could get out alive, Thomas would want it to be Dice. It was still hard to believe Dice just left him there to die. His cheeks were red when he realized that he was showing his soft side toward Dice. "T-that.. didn't come out like I wanted it to.." he muttered in embarrassment. Thomas wanted to give Dice a hard time about leaving him but it didn't turn out that way. "Are you sure you're at the park? I'm still here at the forest. Ugh, this isn't the time for jokes, Dice! This is getting annoying."

"What? How are you at the park if I can hear you from here?! W-what are you doing in the park, anyway! Um.... I mean, I'm glad you're safe but you like... left me."
Dice's stomach dropped as the truth started to pound in his mind. He started to cry harder.
It's my fault, it's all my fault that I even got ourselves into this mess...
"Thomas, I'm so sorry...I didn't mean to, I just..." Dice sobbed. "I-I just...fell into a tree and...here I am. Ugh, even that sounds dumb."
"T-that.. didn't come out like I wanted it to..Are you sure you're at the park? I'm still here at the forest. Ugh, this isn't the time for jokes, Dice! This is getting annoying."
Thomas' voice was getting closer. "Y-yeah, I'm pretty sure I know where I am, there's some benches and I think I see a pond over there..." Dice said as he looked around. "You sound like you're getting closer, Thomas! J-Just keep on doing whatever you're doing."

It's hard to understand him when he cries. Thomas looked at what ever trees were around. "You fell... into a tree?" He felt like an idiot just thinking that he could fall into a tree like Dice did. "What the-ah!" Thomas fell down and met face to face with the cement below. He groaned and sat up, cupping his jaw with his hand. That was a hard fall... He looked up from where he fell but there was only the sky. "What...?" He looked around and it seemed to be that he was in a park of some sort. Thomas stood up and called out for Dice. "Diiiiiice! Where are you?"
