[googlefont="Griffy"][googlefont="Abel"] SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY @elodie Anria hadn't flown in a while, not since that day Laura had died and Edessa had taken over her body. But she'd spent weeks cooped up in her home, and it might have been a nice home, but she was feeling restless despite herself. It was written into her bones that she should fly, her very DNA stated that she needed to be in the air and free, not caged. And, she supposed, it probably wasn't healthy to avoid socializing or something, right? So she was flying again. She'd nearly forgotten how intoxicating it was to feel the air through her wings, how significant she felt looking down on the microscopic trees and the river as thin as spider's string. Anria would fly up as high as she could until the pressure in her ears was too great even for her, then let herself fall, fall, fall, and catch the air at just the last second. Anria was just floating at the moment, though, her hair streaming out behind her. Her mind was finally easing up, and she was starting to feel like maybe she could trust herself again. She even found herself thinking about Elodie, and why she wasn't afraid of her, despite knowing she was human. Every once in a while she would see someone passing around below. The wilderness was a frequent destination for therians, and she didn't think much of seeing anyone. But it felt like more than coincidence when Anria, while thinking of her, spotted Elodie. She hovered, beating her large wings an looking down, trying to decide what to do. Elodie probably wouldn't want to see her. But then again... Realizing she might have been spotted, and wouldn't want to appear to be spying, she carefully flew down to the ground and landed about a hundred feet away in the clearing she had spotted Elodie. She pinched her lips together, hesitating again, then cautiously walked forward until she was within speaking distance. "Um.. Hey?"

A shadow cast over the blonde rather quickly and she looked up at the sky, spotting a winged therian up there. It was difficult to tell who it was but he/she descended far away from her. The therian was far from her so she thought that she was safe. It bothered El that she was becoming more cautious around the people that lived in the haven. However, she was still just as gullible and naive. El continued to mind her own business and she walked forward, taking in her surroundings. It seemed peaceful there but also dangerous for a human. Her blue eyes looked forward and she squinted her eyes a little as if that would make her see better. "Anria?" she blurted the winged therian's name. El stopped straining her eyes and she decided to meet Anria half way while wondering why Anria was walking toward her. "Um.. Hey?" "Hi.." Maybe that was her a while ago. I would think that I would have noticed her. It's not hard to miss her red hair. "Is your wing better?" she paused and asked, "How are you?"WORDS:TAGS: Anria Liana NOTES: I'm sorry that my post is sooooo short! |

[googlefont="Griffy"][googlefont="Abel"] SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Maybe it was just her, but Anria was getting the impression that this was awkward. Anria tried a smile, her heart fluttering a little. Was it just her? She wouldn't be surprised if things really were strained, given their last meeting, and their first. Actually, she wouldn't have been surprised if Elodie had run screaming - that was more what she was anticipating. But no, she stood there, and even if hesitation hung like a suffocating smoke around them, Elodie was willing to talk. "Is your wing better?" Anria nodded, giving the mentioned wing a little shake. "Good as new," Anria responded, smiling a genuine warm smile. "You really patched it up well, thank you." "How are you?" Now that question was a bit trickier. Relatively, she was much, much better than she had been since the prior two times they had met. She still felt shaky and exposed without her mask, but at the same time, she finally felt, er, human again, like a real person that was really alive with real emotions. That feeling felt even more intense, she realized, now that she was standing near to Elodie again. "I'm alright- I'm feeling better. Thanks," She said. "And you? How are you?"

El shifted her blue gaze onto the wing that she clearly remembered tending to. That day was a day she couldn't forget. It was an emotional roller coaster ride but it could have been worse. El told Anria that she was a human and Anria was shocked. She looked like she was hurt to hear that. It felt like Anria was trying to be okay with the fact that Elodie was a human. It still didn't change El's mind and she left right after she was done helping Anria. El wasn't convinced that Anria was completely okay with her. She snapped out of her remembrance of that day and she forced a small smile on her face. "That's great..~ I'm glad your wing is better.""O-oh, um, it's no problem. You had to show me how to do it. I'm sorry if that was a bother." she laughed nervously. "I've never had to do something like that before.""I'm alright- I'm feeling better. Thanks," "And you? How are you?" "I'm good. I'm just trying to get used to everything."

[googlefont="Griffy"][googlefont="Abel"] SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY "Good, that's good," Anria responded, nodding. God, this was.. what? Scary? Awkward? Anria licked her lips, pressed them together, and found a sudden interest in the ground. What was she supposed to say? She should have just kept flying, let Elodie go on her own. It wasn't like Anria was healthy for anyone, let alone a newcomer to Haven who's guardian had just been killed. Oh, and not to mention that Elodie's companion wasn't exactly keen on letting Anria into their lives, as far as she could tell. Anria gulped. Around them, the trees dipped as a gust of early fall wind swirled past. Why did genuine socializing have to be so hard? A pressure was working its way into Anria's gut. She knew she needed to say something, and knew that she wanted badly to make things right with Elodie. She wasn't sure why that was so important, but it was. "Listen, Elodie," Anria began, a little shaky at first as she pried her brightly-colored eyes away from the ground and focused on Elodie's face. "I'm sorry for everything- the way you saw me, making you uncomfortable and... I don't care that you're human- I mean, I'm glad you told me, really, what I mean is... it doesn't matter if you're human or therian. Either way, you're still the kind woman that I have come to recognize."
