|As Anria is primarily based off of Opal Strole expect a more than worthy and extremely educated opponent XD| The air was still. Nothing moved, not the trees, nor the undergrowth, even the animals were tranquil. The chill present in the spring air pricked Anria's skin as she silently landed after a long flight from Haven in human form with a basket in hand. She smirked at the black creature that was inside the basket as she dropped it on the ground with a hefty thump. "I know, I know, but it was the fastest means of transportation," she remarked with a teasing glance, only assuming the worst response. The young woman took a few paces forward, clapping her hands together in anticipation as her gaze wandered about the clearing she had landed in. Kneeling before a large fallen tree trunk, she silently withdrew a hidden black bag from under an assortment of debris. As Anria hefted it out, it made the familiar, faint clacking sound of metal-on-metal. With a grin, the red-head tossed it to her company's feet, nodding to the bag to gesture that he open it. "You get first pick, Kirito. Trust me, there's plenty to choose from."

kirito's muscles were sore. as soon as anria had landed, he pushed the basket gently, and the whole thing broke. sighing, he stood up, yawning and stretching. "wasn't too bad. i got to take a nap." he responded, then eyed the bag with an expression of disbelief. he shrugged slightly to himself and squatted down, rummaging around in the bag. he came across two swords. they weren't his two favourites that were hidden in the remains of his old house, but they would have to do. he picked the two up easily and swung them around, then sheathed them in two crossed sheaths on his back. they were nice and heavy, but a little shorter than he would've liked. "ok, now you choose."

Nodding at her opponents choice, Anria rummaged through the bag until she found a number of throwing knives. She held them up momentarily for examination, then calmly stored them in various places on her person. She hoped Kirito would find her choice weak, considering the size of each in comparison to his swords, which knowing her own skill, would be quite beneficial. On of the other items she withdrew were two black walky talkies, and tossed one towards her companion. "We'll get to a desired starting location, then click the call button to signal when we're ready. When both have signaled, let hell break loose. Desired rules? You'll probably want a "no killing" rule, by the way."

kirito's face flickered into a smile as anria chose knives. "no reach, too light to cause any real damage if in close-quarters. if they're thrown, they can cause damage, but they are slow to go through the air and my animal counterpart can hear things that a normal human can't." he said quietly, catching the walkie talkie and hooking it onto his belt. "hmm, yeah, i'll go with no killing, no chopping off body parts and no going out of the forest." he flashed a goofy grin, showing definite canine fangs. "anything else?"

Anria couldn't help a smile when Kirito claimed she would be inept with her chosen weapon. Throwing a grin, she turned and began her trek into the wilderness. "Nah," she responded, reaching up and tying her long red hair into a neat ponytail. "I think you covered it." The young woman paused suddenly and turned to look at her opponent. "Good luck," she called, then to herself, though well aware he could here her, "You'll need it." Anria then, after giggling manically to herself for a few beats, lifted herself into the air, into the sun's rays where she couldn't be seen, then darted off in a direction for her starting location.

kirito's eyes flashed playfully and he loosened his body for two moments, closing his eyes and breathing slowly. then, without any warning, he dashed off, a thin trail of dust trailing behind him. the raven-haired boy stopped a few moments later, skidding out of the edge of the forest. he quickly darted back in, then unhooked the walkie talkie, and spoke into it. "let the games begin?"
(here's a video overview of how kirito fights and uses his dual blades. also just a heads up this video's from an anime called sword art online, which is about a death vr mmo game that you can't log out of. also, if your hp loses zero in the game, the headset you use to enter the vr emits a shock wave and fries your brain. fun, right?)

|MANY apologies. I've had some troubles at home, and have been rather busy preparing for end-of-the-year assessments at school. Regardless, please forgive me for my absence!|
It took mere moments for Anria to reach her own end of the forest. The treeline here wasn't as abrupt from the ground as it was from the sky, though she found it subtle nonetheless. Her eyes wandered about the area, noting her surroundings, when Kirito's voice piped up from her belt. Unclipping the small device, Anria held the walky talkie up to her lips. "Let the games begin," she confirmed, then clicked the transmitter off - just in case it was used to locate her - and slid it back onto her belt. Adrenaline coursed into Anria's veins, and she felt all her senses heighten tenfold; hearing, smelling, the vibrations in the air and the trembling of the earth. She sucked it all in as she nimbly, silently, scampered up a nearby tree and perched in it, hidden against the shadow of the setting sun, and crouched in anticipation, letting some time pas in preparation for her next motion.

kirito smirked and unclipped the walkie talkie, keeping the transmitter on and pressing the button to initiate the annoying morse code beeps. the loud inhuman noise echoed around the forest and the schipperke weighted the button with a rock and sped off, leaving the noise to blare through the forest. he knew that aria would be up high - that's where she would most feel safe. he transformed into a small black dog, hoping that the setting sun would cover him. he reached the centre clearing where they had started and began to sniff around to try and track her scent.
who should win?

Fluidly, silently, and expertly, the young red-head skipped through the trees, darting from one branch to another, allowing herself to become more engulfed in the shadows of the branches. Though Kirito would have been correct about her comfort up high, she also was well aware that, as a canine, he would be more likely to track her scent rather than wait for a rendezvous. This in mind, Anria stopped after she had approached around fifty feet within the treeline. She had ensured she was high up enough that her exact scent location would be difficult to pinpoint, and also that she was well within the trees, hidden in the shadows. What might have been considered unusual was the fact that she maintained her human form, anticipating that she would need its strength if she were to spring down on an unsuspecting victim. So, Anria perched in a tree, crouched and ready, thinking about how she had started her retreat to her starting location at a walk so as to let Kirito find the general direction of her scent. Hopefully, she thought, he would go in that direction, though not know exactly where she was. A flawless plan, she praised herself, smiling manically in acknowledgement of her mental mental compliment. Thanks. Later Anria would be further grateful she had remembered to turn off her walkie talky, as it was silent and still despite Kirito's attempt at using it as a tracker. |Is that OOC? Because if so, I would recommend Anria, but I have no idea really |

kirito froze as an echo of footsteps drifted through his extremely sensitive ears. he silently changed back into a human, then counted to three and took off, following the noise. his onyx eyes detected a flash of red in the tree tops and he skidded to a stop, swiftly scaling a tree trunk and crouching, grateful for his black style. he knew that anria would have a massive advantage over him in the trees, but he decided to test it out. he unsheathed one of the blades and held it in his right hand. it dragged behind him as he sped forward, leaping over onto another tree and making a hell of a ton of noise. before anria could find him and maul him, he dropped down to the ground, then loosely gripped his sword as he waited for the red head to show herself.
{yeah, sorry, my mistake. forgot to use the brackets. anyway, i feel like kirito and anria are both equally talented, so maybe we should use a random generator? i dunno. it's definitely not because i want kirito to win lol
