This was where it all happened. Cecil's green eyes flickered from left to right as he explored his surroundings. Nostalgic memories flowed back, and they weren't all necessarily good memories. Some were filled with laughter and most of them were filled with screams of agony. Cecil cradled a bouquet of flowers that were meant for his dear friends that made the nostalgic memories in the forest. He could never forget them because he suffered insomnia from hearing their screams. There were several nights where he couldn't get any sleep because of the dreams and the guilt. Why couldn't he save them? He couldn't save a single one. Cecil usually smiled and laughed it off and that was all that he could do. He was trying to convince himself that everything would be okay but it was not. How could he forget about his friends and the tragedy that fell upon the half-bloods? Most of his friends were half-bloods. They were kind to him when his own kind wasn't. Cecil blinked his green eyes when he noticed the sun was blocked for a moment by a shadow in the sky. There was a hawk flying in the sky. The hawk swooped down and transformed into a girl with red hair. Cecil assumed that she was a girl because of her long hair. "W-woah.." he stared at the girl in awe and took a step toward her.

Below was nothing but pain. Pain, tragedy, hate; Humans that hated and betrayed and couldn't understand, wouldn't understand. Anria, flew high above that terrible place, hawk form so as not to seem out of place, watching with a bittersweet ache in her heart as trees passed below her. She refused to go anywhere near the City where so many of those rancid things resided. They hated. They killed. Anria almost faltered in the sky as painful memories hit her head on. She had thought she had recovered from her moment of weakness with Laura back in Haven, but she had been wrong. To escape those feelings that seemed to remain around Laura, as ludicrous as it was, she had decided to take a vacation back to the normal world- Of humans. Of pain. Of them. The HBES. Murderers that were justified by continuous horror of their fellow humans. Betraying trust at the slightest moment of fear, of the abnormal reality was all Anria remembered humans doing. Causing a wake of pain in their trail. Somewhere in the forest were the remains of her old home from two, three years ago. How long had it been? How long had she been in Haven? Anria ascended, her wings feeling awfully soar, upon landing, she immediately returned to her human clothes, dressed, out of the ordinary for her, in a flowing azure dress. She had selected this article of clothing, which was completely out of her style, in memory of her mother's favorite color. It was so quiet in the forest, and for once, Anria found herself appreciating it. "W-woah.." Anria whipped around, eyes wide as she examined the boy. What was he doing so far out in the wilderness? That was besides the point. Without thinking, Anria spread her large white wings and leaped upwards, preparing to flee for Haven.

Cecil blinked his eyes at her curiously and tilted his head. His eyes grew wide when she appeared to be preparing herself to take flight. "U-uh-! Wait!" he called out to her hesitantly and tripped over his own legs like an idiot. He fell to the ground clumsily and the bouquet of flowers flew out of his hands. Cecil groaned and sat up slowly, raising a hand to touch his nose. "O-owie.." The redheaded boy scanned the forest for the bouquet that flew out of his hands. It was missing. "Oh, n-no.. Where did it go?" he asked himself and stood up quickly almost as if in a panic.

Anria, too curious about the young man's clumsiness and seemingly childish demeanor, had alighted in the thick boughs of a nearby tree, a safe height and a safe distance away, though not too far to see details. A sudden object flew into her face, and she stagger for a minute until her fingers wrapped around the soft bundle. Anria was startled for a second or so, thinking maybe the boy had thrown a net or something, but she quickly realized they were flowers. Her face scrunching in confusion and she grasped it toward the ends of the stems. "Here?" She said in such a small voice that it surprised her. Her wings quivered in anticipation as she carefully, without relinquishing sight of what seemed to be a human, tossed the bouquet towards him.

Cecil looked back to the winged red-haired girl that was holding his bouquet of flowers. The girl was beautiful. It made him realize something. "You're next to be married!" he exclaimed excitedly. His face turned red when he recalled that the bride was the one to throw the bouquet. "Ah! Did I just accidentally refer to myself as the bride?!" That was so embarrassing! Cecil caught the bouquet of flowers and looked down at them. He looked up from the flowers and smiled at the girl. "Thank you! U-um.. May I ask who are you? I'm Cecil."

This Cecil fellow continued to ramble on about petty things as Anria stood, hesitantly, on the branch in the tree. Glaring accusingly at him, she licked her lips out of nervous habit and remained silent, refusing to answer his question. For a moment, she almost relaxed, feeling as though, maybe, he really was just a fool in the forest. But she immediately snapped out of this feeling and returned to darting her gaze in and out of the trees, searching for whoever else might be nearby. After a few seconds, she slowly opened her red lips, her eyes steadily meeting Cecil's, and said in a demanding voice, "Where are the rest of them?"

Cecil cradled the bouquet of flowers in his arm like before and looked up at the girl in the tree. He started to see her as a half-blood and thought about what his kind had done to them. She must have been scared or maybe it was the take flight nature in her. Cecil saw no problem with talking to her because he knew who he was. He wouldn't harm a half-blood but she didn't know that. "The rest of them..?" he asked with a confused look on his face. "Oh! Um.. I'm by myself. I came here alone."

Anria's eyes continued to remain on Cecil. A light breeze ruffled the feathers of her wings, almost knocking her off balance. Grudgingly, she tucked them away against her back, chewing on her bottom lip as she watched for any reactions. "And why are you in the forest on your own, if not to capture... me?" She was going to say therians. She was going to say us. But she couldn't bring herself to it. For some reason, Anria felt as though addressing therians like herself simply as "therians" or otherwise was to place herself outside of that group, as though she wasn't one of 'them' and was separating herself from the innocent. Nevertheless, she believed that Cecil was well aware of what she meant. Quickly after, to confirm her suspicions she asked, "You are a... human, after all... right?"

The redheaded boy was starting to feel a little nervous with the awkward silence that would come and go. He wasn't good with things being so quiet and awkward. Obviously, he could sense a kind of tension between him and the hawk lady. "And why are you in the forest on your own, if not to capture... me?" "O-oh! Um... I wouldn't capture anyone. I'm here to pay my respects to some old friends of mine." he bit his bottom lip and tried to keep a smile on his face. All he could do was smile during the dark times. It was mostly to keep whatever sanity he had left. "U-uh.. Yes! I am a human. I'm Cecil... I never got your name. That's if you don't mind me asking for your name."

"Cecil..." she repeated, narrowing her eyes. Feeling more confident and in charge, which would have been dangerous in any other circumstance, Anria was allowing the length of the silence she created to diminish. Sounds like a medieval knight or something, she found herself thinking. Instantly, she cleared her head of necessary thoughts. Her name? Anria's frown thickened as she contemplated revealing such information. Hesitantly, she confided, "My name is Anria." Having told Cecil her name, the red-headed girl began to feel increasingly exposed, like only her first name could become a portal to trust, and trust to- She stopped herself before the memories, the betrayal, before it all came rushing back again and distracted her. Continuing to study Cecil, hoping her face hadn't betrayed anything, Anria stepped from one tree branch to the other, decreasing her elevation by a good ten feet, never averting her gaze from the boy. "What happened to them, your friends I mean?"
