A large white hoof stopped down on a patch of blue flowers. Asriel's horns glinted in the morning sun and he raised his eyes to it, unblinking. He let out a snort and shook his fur. The thick white down dragged him down on hot summer days, but today's frosty morning was great. He bunched up his robe around him and heard a noise from his left side. He turned, making his ears move and narrowed his eyes. "Go away, half-blood." he said, his deep voice echoing around the trees.

"Well, aren't you a sight for sore eyes," Anria responded sharply, her voice oozing with sarcasm. "A real eye-catcher. So what's got under your skin - er, fur." The red-head launched herself down from the high branch she had been perched on, using her wide white wings to slow her decent. Clothed simply in a crimson winter T-shirt and black sweatpants, the feisty young woman clearly gave the appearance that she wasn't one for fashion memos. This mutant before her, however, was a whole different statement, and she regarded the man with a sideways smirk and keen multicolored eyes.

Asriel's haunted black eyes watched as the red head - literally - landed before him. He regarded her carefully, making no moves but instead sizing her up, using his enhanced skill to pick up her weaknesses - the way she walked, the way she talked. Upon hearing the sarcasm, his eyes darkened and he clenched his fists. He flicked his tail and shuddered as a wave of memories tried to break through the haze. His eyes became unfocused, and he shook his head to clear it. "Nothing, half-blood." he said carefully, before his eyes gleamed and the things scientists had injected quickly regained their hold on his brain. Something snapped and his nose twitched. He bared his sharp teeth, wondering why he had no weapon. "They're so close... so close... I can almost touch them..." an unconscious part of him was fighting the virus within him and he leaned forward subconsciously, grasping for the memories of his childhood. When he didn't get any, he snarled angrily and turned on the red-head. "The half-blood. They did this to us." he said, stumbling forward and raising a hand. "But it is not right. I am one of them." he said quietly. "NO! They are bad. They did this to us." the other voice repeated, and he hissed in agony.
{wow that took a turn}

The woman raised an eyebrow as this weirdo started babbling on about who knows what. Anria had just had to endure one MPD girl that forced her own memories to reappear, and frankly, she didn't feel like dealing with another. Either way, though, this guy seemed way easier to handle, in her opinion. Insane, babbling, impenetrable freaks were more her forte, something she had fed off since her Mistake. "I see..." Anria responded, crossing her arms and leaning back against a tree trunk. "And would you like a side of Paranoia with that Insanity?" The boy's mutated form didn't bother her as much as the appearing confusion and dangerous uncertainty. "Or would you like a healthy Reason and Serenity salad?"

Asriel clenched his teeth. "Shut your mouth, hal--" he shuddered and a ripple went across his fur. He coughed into his hand. His eyes became bright blue and he said in a panicked, pretty voice: "They've got my brain. HBES. It's taken over and it's--" another shudder went through his fur and his voice went back to his regular tone. "Forget I said anything, half-blood. Go back to your silly games."

Anria went stock still. It had been a long time since she had been utterly frightened of something. Memories slapped her in the face, of the fire and the search and the screams, but she stood still, completely stoic until she wasn't. Her upper lip twitched, and her face morphed into anger. "Don't talk about them," she growled, refering to the HBES. At another time she would have cared about this boy's tragic past or dire circumstances, but the softness had drained from her body with one simple acronym: Half-Blood Execution Squad. She knew she would never forget that day, the look on their faces. A deep shudder racketed Anria's body, and she found herself staring at the mutant with a distant expression. It took her some time to come around, and she blinked to moisten her dried eyes. "Who are you," she demanded, determined to discover the reason that putrid acronym slipped so subtly from the beast's tongue.

Asriel watched quietly as the person in front of him seemed to go through shock. "I will talk about whatever I want, half-blood." he said, then blinked slowly as she voiced the question. "Who am I?" he mused, sadness filling his eyes. "My name is... my name is Asriel. Asriel Dreemurr. I... I don't know who I am." he stuttered slightly but still stood tall and strong. "And you, half-blood?"

"My name is Anria," the woman responded slowly as though the words were Russian Roulette on her tongue. "I suppose I could say the same about myself, but at least I know how to admit my wrongs and do something to change." It was true, regardless of her change not necessarily being what most would consider "healthy" but she was telling her own truth nonetheless. "What do you regret?"

{holy carp i forgot about this ugh} Asriel titled his head slowly. "What I regret?" he repeated, musing over the question slowly. "Nothing, Anria Liana." he didn't know how, but her last name tumbled out of his mouth and he blinked, watching for Anria's reaction.

Anria raised an eyebrow, surprised but hardly fazed. "Oh, so you're a physic now?" she grumbled. "Your claim for 'no regrets' is a clear lie, so what are your regrets really?" She shuffled on her feet, taking a few paces around this Asriel fellow, studying him, her huge white wings twitching on her back reflexively. "You claim to not know who you are. Why?" She stopped, took a breath, and played a false, treacherous false smile.
